Warnick named All-State, two Cardinal teammates named to Academic All-State Team

On Saturday, June 29, the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association announced their All-State teams for the 2024 season.

Bloomfield’s third baseman Dillon Warnick was named to the 1A All-State team for his junior season.

Warnick was named an honorable mention in 2023 before making the All-State team in a junior year that saw him post a .453 average.

The rising senior earned 29 hits, nine doubles, two triples and three home runs with 17 RBIs.

He also accumulated nine stolen bases, with a .969 fielding percentage with 86 put outs and one assist.

Warnick pitched 26 and 2/3 innings with a 3.15 ERA, going 3-1 with 37 strikeouts.

Cardinal teammates Boone Holtsclaw and Kellen Luse were named to the IHSBCA Academic All-State team for their senior years.

Luse earned 10 hits and nine RBIs with one home run and one double, adding 12 put outs.

On the mound, Luse earned a 2.62 ERA, going 3-1 with 21 strikeouts.

For Holtsclaw, the Cardinal racked up 26 hits, five doubles and two home runs, adding 17 RBIs.

The senior added seven stolen bases, putting up 27 put outs and three assists.

On the mound, the ace went 3-3 with a 2.43 ERA, striking out 48 batters.
