Hilda R. Keene

Hilda R. Keene, 103, of Jasonville passed away at 9:23 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 in Glenburn Home in Linton.

She was born March 30, 1921 in Howesville to Bud Yeryar and Ruby Jean (Gibson) Yeryar.

Hilda married Emory G. Keene, who passed away on February 3, 2003.

Survivors include her children, Aaron Keene (Emily) of Lakeland, Fla., Blaine Keene (Cindy) of Jasonville; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gregory Lance Keene; sister, Marjorie Weir (John) and step-granddaughter, Rachel Houser.

Hilda graduated Coalmont High School Class of 1939. She was a homemaker and she was a member of the Sullivan, Indiana congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sullivan. She enjoyed reading and, in later years, listening to audiobooks.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville. Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2024 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 12 p.m. with Pastor Chris Elmore officiating.

Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.
