Elzenia Mae Stalcup

Elzenia Mae Stalcup, age 92, went home to be with the Lord at 1:50 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024 in Pendleton. She was born to John A. Logan Fuller and Mary Caroline (Stevens) Fuller at their home in rural Bloomfield on October 10, 1931. She remained a lifelong resident of Bloomfield until she and her husband Eldon moved to Pendleton in 2013. They had been married nearly 67 years when Eldon passed away in March of 2016.

Elzenia worked as an office assistant for Dr. H.B. Turner during the 1960s and until Dr. Turner’s retirement in early 1974. She then worked as office manager for Penn Kitchens in Bloomington for eight years. Following that, she worked as a salesperson for Chaney’s Fashions for 25 years. Elzenia was a member of Allen Chapel Church just outside of Bloomfield. She loved cooking and hosting family dinners. She enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful afghans for friends and family members over the years.

Elzenia is survived by two daughters, Mindy (Stalcup) Haag (David) of Pendleton and Kathy (Stalcup) Marker of Avon; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Stalcup; her son, Roger Stalcup and one grandson, Andrew Stalcup.

Funeral services will be conducted at Lester Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1 p.m. with calling two hours prior to the funeral. Pastor Paul McHenry and Pastor Eugene Helms (Elzenia’s nephew) will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
