According to Greene County Emergency Management Agency Director Roger Axe, Greene County is currently under a Level 1 travel advisory. A Level 1 advisory means "drive with caution".

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory after midnight tonight.

Greene County is among the list of several central Indiana counties expected to get hit with snow and ice. The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The advisory states, “Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of around one-tenth of an inch expected.”

The National Weather Service warns of slippery road conditions.

“The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute,” the advisory states.

“A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.”

The latest road conditions for Indiana can be obtained by calling 1-800-261-7623.
