She was born in Decatur, Ill. on Sept. 28, 1924, the only child of J. Lee and Lucy (Trimmer) Hooker. She was a 1942 graduate of Worthington High School. She had been a member of the Spencer Baptist Church since 1951. She worked at the Spencer Evening World for 10 years and then Production Credit Association for 10 years. Kathryn enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Fiscus whom she married in 2007, daughter, Paulette (Ron) Medaris of Bonita Springs, FL; daughter in-law, Joni Bryan of Mooresville; granddaughters, Annette (Mark) Flaskamp of Avon and LeAnne Charboneau of Indianapolis; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob and Jonah Flaskamp all of Avon; half-brother, James (Amanda) Hooker of Hannibal, MO; two half sisters, Pauline (Herbert) Fields of Center Point and Janet Somers of Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Paul Bucher; first husband, Bernard Bryan in 2000; and son, Larry Bryan in 2009.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Shannon Benham will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
