David M. Aiken, 93, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 at the Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born October 4, 1917 in Benton, Ill. the son of Charles and Murtle (McClay) Aiken.
David was an Air Force veteran of WWII and a Professor of Music at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mary M. Aiken of Bloomfield; one daughter, Dava Lee Tobey of Florida, two sons, Daniel Aiken of Ellettsville and Timothy Aiken of Evanston, Illinois. He has three grandchildren; Kelly Aiken, Kyle Aiken and Macy Aiken, two step-grandchildren Catherine Christiansen and Carolyn Stombauth, and five step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one infant brother.
There will be no public visitation, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family wishes any donations be made to the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music or the Alzheimers Association.
