The board also elected officers for the coming year. James Yeryar was elected president; Jeff Miller, vice president; and John Gambill, secretary.
The board voted to keep the same date and time, which is the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. The current compensation for board members, $2,000 a year, also remains the same.
Continuing with business, the board accepted the bid from Hostess Brands for the school's bread distributor. The board also accepted the milk bid from Prairie Farms upon the approval of Mrs. Collins.
Upon Superintendent Mike Mogan's recommendation, the board reappointed Pamela Jerrells, corporation treasurer; Brenda Culler, corporation payroll/deputy treasurer; Vicki McCracken, corporation secretary; and Rowe Law Firm as corporation attorney.
The ECA building treasurers are as follows: Christina Letsinger, Jr./Sr. High; Jayne Collins, cafeteria; Pamela Burger, athletics secretary, elementary/junior/senior high and cafeteria deputy treasurer.
With a unanimous vote, the board voted for Superintendent Mogan to be a representative for Greene/Sullivan Special Education Cooperative Board of Superintendents, Twin Rivers Career & Technical Education Board of Directors, Greene County Grant Consortium Board of Directors, SIEC Executive Board, Greene Academy Alternative School Board of Directors and ESCRFT Executive Board.
In the superintendent's report, Mogan said school repairs were on schedule, and he was pleased with the work.
He reported that summer school ended July 1, and there was good attendance.
"I'm surprised to see so many employees in during the summer," noted Mogan. "Sometimes they peek their heads in my office, and it's always good to see them."
Board members welcomed Rob Wise as the new member and said they would keep Jane Siepman in their prayers.
In other business, the board:
* Approved reemployment of part time aides, custodians and instructional assistants with a raise of 1.45 percent and approved a 1.45 percent raise to Brent Anderson and Elementary Principal Chris Ross.
* Accepted Jane Siepman's request for a medical leave for the 2010-11 school year and accepted the resignation of Steve Polivka, assistant varsity coach.
* Appointed Monica Stevens as ECA elementary building treasurer.
* Approved permission to advertise 2011 projected budget and also approved textbook fees, which will remain the same as last year.
* Resolved to authorize pre-payment of claims.
* Approved estimates from Graves Plumbing for water line and AC compressor.
* Voted for the following insurance companies to represent school personnel: United Health Care, VSP (vision), Principle, life and long term disability.
