Indiana State Police Sgt. Curt Durnil reports current road conditions within the Bloomington District, which includes Monroe, Greene, Brown, Lawrence and Owen counties are as follows:
* SR 37 -- both lanes are snow covered with some pavement visible.
* U.S. highways are snow covered with very little pavement visible.
* Secondary roads (county roads) are covered with approximately 2 inches of snow.
Troopers are currently assisting with slide-offs and minor property damage crashes on SR 37, north and south of Bloomington and north and south of Bedford. Throughout the district there may be lane restrictions. There are no road closings at this time, but motorists should be prepared for sudden speed reductions or stops.
Durnil said everyone is encouraged not to call their local, county or state police dispatch centers for road and weather conditions. Troopers and dispatchers are extremely busy at this time and are focused on providing assistance for those in need.
Citizens can access statewide road information by going to: TrafficWise.IN.gov
