This year, the Greene County CASA Program and Voices for Kids is offering an unusual opportunity for adults to treat the very special children in their life to a "Teddy Bear Tea" on Friday afternoon, Feb. 12.
The tea will be at the Pepperoni Grill on the Courthouse Square in Bloomfield from 2:45-4 p.m.
A special guest, Tommy Teddy Bear, will be there to meet the children and hand out complimentary teddy bears.
In addition to a tiny teddy bear for each child, sweetheart roses will also be given out and a variety of cakes will be served along with vanilla ice cream plus milk, tea or coffee.
Sandy May from the Greene County CASA office is organizing the event as a fundraiser to benefit children in the court system.
"This has turned into an annual event and each year it gets more popular," said May.
May said anyone who would like to attend should make a reservation so the sponsors know how many people to expect.
"We have wonderful sponsors and they are making this possible," said May. "We want to thank the Pepperoni Grill, Floyd's Flowers, the Bloomfield Dairy Queen and the Rowe Law Firm for their support of this event."
The cost to attend is $25 for a "couple" consisting of one adult and one child and $10 for each additional family member.
Tea times are available at 2:45, 3 and 3:15 p.m.
To make a reservation, send a name and contact phone number along with a check as payment to: Voices for Kids, Inc., c/o CASA, P.O. Box 231, Bloomfield, Ind., 47424, or deliver to the Greene County CASA Program office on the third floor of the Greene County Courthouse.
