Shoals, who made 10 3-pointers, improved to 10-7 while the Lady Bulldogs slipped to 3-14.
"We got off to an awfully slow start," said Union (Dugger) coach Benji Boyd. "We were not ready to play. We were very lethargic. They shot well from the perimeter, but a lot of that was because we did not have a hand in their face or guard them.
"But we did play with more energy in the second half. We did learn some things. We have to make improvement in games because we can't get much out of practice with only six players. We did accomplish some things in the second half."
Shayna Nicol just missed scoring her season-high, but finished with her second consecutive double-double, collecting 18 points and 20 rebounds to pace the Lady Bulldogs. Nicol had 14 points and 15 rebounds in a setback at Shakamak Monday.
"Shayna has been really solid. She just keeps getting better," said Boyd.
The Lady Bulldogs will play another varsity-only game at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Medora.
