Accident early Thursday sends Bloomfield woman to hospital

Thursday, December 31, 2009
A 20-year-old Bloomfield woman had to be extricated from her vehicle before she was transported to the hospital after a one-vehicle accident early Thursday.

Megan Hodges was northbound on County Road 950E south of State Road 54 in a 1988 Ford Bronco II when the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m.

Greene County Sheriff's Lt. Bryan K. Woodall responded to the scene and reported Hodges said as she topped a hill crest, she lost control of the vehicle due to an ice-covered roadway.

Woodall said the vehicle skidded off the west side of the road, hit an embankment then overturned and came to rest on the passenger side.

Deputy Chris McDonald also responded to the assist on the scene along with Center Township Fire & Rescue and the Greene County Ambulance Service.

Members of the Center Township department extricated Hodges from the vehicle.

She was then transported by ambulance to Bloomington Hospital with a complaint of pain to the back and neck.
