Greene County Daily World: Local News: UPDATED: Snowy start to the week; Eastern closed (12/07/09)

Eastern Greene School District is closed Monday and the rest of county schools are on a two-hour delay.

Linton-Stockton,Bloomfield, White River Valley, Eastern Greene and MSD of Shakamak school districts are on a two-hour delay this morning (Monday) following the area's first measurable snowfall.

Eastern had originally announced it was operating on a two-hour delay, but changed to a closure.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS REPORTED AT 5:21 A.M. THAT LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO FALL ACROSS MOST OF CENTRAL INDIANA FOR A FEW MORE HOURS. THE EXCEPTION IS THE WESTERN COUNTIES...WHERE THE SNOW HAS TAPERED OFF. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE BETWEEN ONE

HALF AND ONE INCH. VISIBILITIES WILL BE REDUCED AND ROADS WILL BE SLICK. EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE.

I believe Eastern was closed due to a power outage not related to the snow.

I received a call this morning from Linton Elementary at 6 am telling me there would be a 2 hour delay. Last year my kids went to wrv and I never received any notification of delays or closings I had to watch the morning news. Thank you LINTON STOCTON SCHOOL CORP.
