Courtney Rowe-Givens and her son Moses posed with Elvis impersonator, State Rep. Bruce Borders of Jasonville, after his performance during the Holiday Open House at the Greene County Courthouse Friday afternoon. Along with many visitors, Moses enjoyed the Christmas music, lots of homemade cookies and punch but was shy about having his picture taken. Rowe-Givens is an attorney who volunteers time to work in Voices for Kids to assist CASAs (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) and children who are in the court system.
Kathy Wellington of the Greene County Recorder's Office took time out of her work day to place a few bids on items in a silent auction during the Holiday Open House at the Greene County Courthouse on Friday. The first floor courtroom was decorated for the holidays and filled with many auction donations. All proceeds from the auction, sponsored by CASA and Voices for Kids, will go to benefit children in the court system.

No one said any thing about Bruce gong to be there
I did. It was in a story announcing the event in the paper and online at http://gcdailyworld.com/story/1591666.ht... and it's been in Community Notes all week. Anna
I rate a trip to the Court House second only to a trip to the License Branch, but I would gladly have been in attendance for either of these guys!
There was lots of great music there yesterday. Center Stage from Bloomfield HS was there later on as well as the Kingdom Kids from the Bloomfield Baptist Church. Hopefully next year this will be a very well attended event to support our community.
Linuxman, maybe if ALL of the taxpayers were sent invitations and not just the elected officials there would have been a better attendance; also try having it after hrs so taxpayers who are paying the salaries can attend. maybe we wouldn't be so bitter.
