The Lady Vikings, improved to 3-0 while Shakamak dropped to 1-4, jumped out to a 14-2 lead after the first eight minutes and never looked back.
"We knew coming in that we were going to be playing a very, very good team," said Shakamak coach Troy Fougerousse. "We tried to control the defensive boards and gave up no offensive rebounds in the first half. We ended up giving up six for the game. We gave up some late when we had to try and scramble.
"Our demise might have been the first quarter. We got a couple of good looks, but could not put the ball in the basket. It was an uphill battle after that."
Hilliary Fox led the winners with 25 points, including making 9 of 16 free throws. For the game, Barr-Reeve connected on 22 of 33 fouls shots compared to 5 of 6 for Shakamak.
"The free throw discrepancy also was big," said Fougerousse. "We have to get to the line more than six times.
"We cannot put a team on the line 33 times."
Marki Collins paced the Lady Lakers with 13 points. Mikayla Crane led with five rebounds.
In the junior-varsity contest, Shakamak won 22-17. Kelsey Pilant topped the winners with nine points. Megan Phipps scored six points, Kelsey Fulford four, Brooke Samm two and Bethany Simpson added one.
Shakamak will play at North Central Thursday.
