Christmas in the Village will be conducted from 1 - 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at Scotland. Vendors, fun, food and crafts at the Scotland Hotel and fire station. Live entertainment at the Scotland Chapel every hour on the hour from 1- 5 p.m. Santa will be at the barber shop from 2 - 5 p.m. Lighted parade on Main Street at 6 p.m. with the lighting of the memory tree in Cady Grove following the parade. The Scotland Full Gospel Church will also serve soup and sandwiches in their fellowship hall during the event.
Fifth Sunday sing

Santa's workshop will open at the Linton Rotary Mini-Park today from noon - 4 p.m. It also will be open -- Nov. 28 from 1-4 p.m.; Dec. 12 from 1-4 p.m.; Dec. 19 from 1-4 p.m. Santa's workshop will be closed Dec. 6. Santa and his helpers will be coming through by train that day compliments of the Indiana Rail Road. The train will be at the Indiana Rail Road tracks on South Main Street from 1:30-3 p.m.

Festival of Trees
Shawnee Theatre of Greene County's sixth annual Festival of Trees, at the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds in Switz City, is winter wonderland with fabulous decorations, beautifully decorated Christmas trees, and gifts. There is a special area for the children to enjoy, and visits from Santa Claus on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be available as well as homemade candies provided by the Greene County Homemakers Clubs. Recycling Center update
The Greene County Recycling Center will not accept old paint as part of its Household Hazardous Waste program through April. County Solid Waste Management Supervisor Erek Wilson said shutdown during the winter months is necessary because the facility used to store the materials is not heated. All other hazardous household waste products will continue to be accepted. The center accepts motor oil, oil filters, anti-freeze, mercury containing items, fluorescent light tubes, other household chemicals, as well as old computer components.
