The Bloomfield fifth grade boys basketball team opened up the season with a 33-18 victory over White River Valley-Worthington Monday.

Christopher Gilmore paced the Cardinals with 17 points.

Brennan Hughes hit for eight points, Luke VanDeventer, Mathew Waggoner, Adam Dean and Levi Patton each scored two.

Biddy ball at Bloomfield

Bloomfield High School boys basketball coach John Bucher will host the Bloomfield Biddy Ball Youth Basketball Program starting Sunday, Nov. 29 in Glover Gymnasium.

First and second graders will meet at 1 p.m. and third and fourth graders at 2:15 p.m.

All students are encouraged to attend and learn fundamentals and also play games.

The program will last for eight weeks.

The Greene County Daily World encourages area sports youth coaches or parents and elementary and junior high school coaches to submit pictures of your teams for publication.

Pictures should include identification information about all players and coaches as well as any other info about the team's accomplishments.
