WRV falls at Edgewood

Tuesday, November 24, 2009
White River Valley senior Alicia Tally scored all but six points put up by the Lady Wolverines as they lost to host Edgewood 63-22 in a high school girls basketball game at Ellettsville Tuesday night.

Tally hit two 3-pointers and finished with 16 points.

"We have got to find a way to get Alicia some help," said WRV coach Joe Pigg, whose Lady Wolverines slipped to 0-5. "She is really playing her heart out. I am really proud of her.

"We just have to find a way to get her some help."

Edgewood jumped out to a 30-5 lead after the first quarter and cruised to its fourth win in five games.

"I knew that going to Edgewood would be a different kind of game. These girls have not played in a game like this," said Pigg. "It was fast and it was physical for the entire game.

"I knew my kids were not ready for something like that."

WRV will host Clay City in another varsity-only game at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
