Submitted photo THANK YOU GREENE COUNTY: Chad Green, in center, posed with a number of law enforcement officers at a recent benefit dinner and auction to raise money to help Green in his fight against Multiple Sclerosis.
When we sit down to Thanksgiving dinner this week, my wife, Jaimie, and I have a lot to be thankful for, especially for all the people in Greene County.

We'd like to send a very special thank you to Eric Floyd, Don Richardson and Dennis Conaway of the Worthington Police Department for everything they have done to help us over the last few months, and for organizing the benefit dinner and auction to raise money to help with the bills that were piling up around us.

We'd also like to thank the Greene County Fairgrounds for the use of their building for the benefit. The crowd was huge! We couldn't believe how many people were there.

We have so many people to thank and it's hard to put our feelings into words about how much this has meant to us.

Thank you to everyone who donated an item for the auction or baked something for the dinner, and to all of the volunteers that helped cook or serve food or work during the benefit, and to everyone who donated cash or contributed in any way.

Thank you to every single person who came to the benefit, it was wonderful. People here are so kind and caring, and generous.

We want to say thanks to everyone in Greene County. There is just no place else we'd rather be. Greene County people are awesome and we are so very grateful for all of the help so many, many people have given us.

This has relieved so much stress for both of us and we will never ever forget what the community has done for us at a time when we needed help.

Editor's Note

Chad Green, a former law enforcement officer and Greene County General Hospital security guard, is writing a guest column to express thanks to the community.

Green has been confined to a wheelchair since he was stricken with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis last spring.

In support of his struggle to walk and work again, law enforcement officers and community volunteers recently organized a benefit dinner and auction which raised money to help with his expenses.

For more information, contact Deputy Marshal Eric Floyd at 384-5909 or Deputy Marshal Don Richardson at 798-1068 or call the Worthington Police Department at 875-2424. Monetary donations can be made to any branck of MainSource Bank.
