Solsberry man jailed on intimidation charge

Friday, November 20, 2009
A Solsberry man is facing a charge of felony intimidation because he allegedly made several serious threats after becoming upset in connection with the arrest of a Bloomfield woman.

Darrell R. White, 45, was arrested on Nov. 15 at the Greene County Jail by Bloomfield Deputy Marshal Jordan Hasler.

The woman, Jenny M. Bay, 28, was arrested by Hasler earlier the same day at her residence in Bloomfield.

Bay was released from jail after posting $1,500 bond. She was scheduled to appear in court on Friday morning for an initial hearing on a charge of possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Following Bay's arrest, Hasler was at the jail when he received a call from White who told him he was on the way to Bay's apartment and he threatened to do harm to two people who had been there when Bay was arrested as well as Bay.

Hasler asked White to come to the jail to meet with him, and he did.

According to a probable cause affidavit written by Hasler, White got out of his truck and allegedly said, "I have had it and I'm going to kill all those down there and you know there isn't enough cops in this county to stop me."

The affidavit states White said he had made phone calls and people were coming with guns, they would all have AK-47s and "it will be on," that he wouldn't be taken alive and that he had guns that could blow a hole through the building and the bullet-proof glass.

White told the officer he had gotten threatening phone calls on his phone after Bay got out of jail.

White got in his truck and left but when he came back later, he was taken into custody and booked in.

White was arraigned in Greene Circuit Court this week for intimidation, a class D felony, and remains in Greene County Jail where he's being held in lieu of $4,000 bond.
