She was born April 30, 1923, in Knox County, the daughter of Robert Herman and Emma J. (Bollmer) McCord.
She had worked at Mike's Red & White Grocery, Kennedy Shoe Store, Western-Auto, the Five & Dime Store, Switz City School Corporation, the Willows Restaurant, Greene County Highway Department, Carrico Farms, Wal-Mart and McDonalds. She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and attended Linton First United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Freelandville High School.
Survivors include a son, Paul Ed (Mary Jo) Carrico of Worthington; a daughter, Rita (Mike) Hennette of Linton; five grandchildren, Troy Hennette of Pekin, Jason (Brandi) Hennette of Loogootee, Amy (Jeremy) Bennett of Washington, David Carrico of Worthington and Peggy Carrico of Vincennes; three great-grandchildren, Jamison and Hailey Jo Hennette, abd Bryce Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Carrico, Feb. 2, 1993; and two brothers, Frederick and Robert McCord.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton with Rev. Michael Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and after noon Monday at the funeral home.
