Matthew J. Perry was arrested and booked in on preliminary charges of four counts involving operating a vehicle while intoxicated with at least one of them a felony.
Linton Police Cpl. Chad E. Crynes was sitting still in the area of State Road 54 and Price Rd. at 1:17 a.m. when he reported seeing a blue Ford two-door turn east onto the highway from NW 11th St. Perry was the driver.
The vehicle, which had been northbound on 11th St., accelerated in an aggressive manner as it approached the highway.
According to the police report, the vehicle crossed the center line and then turned approximately 180 degrees before it came to rest in a parking lot.
Upon speaking to the driver, the officer suspected Perry had been drinking and first transported him to the police department for field sobriety tests which he failed.
Perry was then transported to Greene County General Hospital for a blood draw before he was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 3 a.m.
Perry's bond was set at $8,000.
