"As of now, the Indiana National Guard is not aware of any Indiana National Guard soldiers or airmen currently stationed or on duty at Fort Hood," Public Affairs Officer Lt. Col. Deedra Thombelson said in a prepared news release. "Our thoughts are with those soldiers and family members during this incident. We will continue to watch the events closely as they unfold."
The U.S. Army says 12 people have been killed and 31 wounded in the shooting rampage.
Lt. Gen Bob Cone said at a news conference that one shooter has been killed and two suspects were apprehended on Thursday. He says they are all U.S. soldiers.
The shooting began around 1:30 p.m. Cone says that all the casualties took place at the base's Soldier Readiness Center where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening.
He says the primary shooter, who has been identified as Fort Hood shooting suspect is Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, an Army mental health professional, used two handguns in the attack.

Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan Wow what a name?
the names a dead giveaway
ladiesman...by your comments...its a poor attitude that makes racism grow in America. I grew up in Greene County and I am now serving at Ft Hood, TX. Yes, I was here when the shooting took place. The actions of one person(traitor) should not reflect poorly upon others with the same ethnic background/ religion. I serve with Muslims and I have a few that I consider my friends and trust my life with. All I am saying here just because they have names that are not similar to ours doesn't mean they are bad people. Think before you speak.
What's wrong with his name, bfman? Or am I just not racist enough to get the reference?
