Man to be in court after allegedly resisting pair of ISP troopers

Jeffery Levi Werner will be summoned to appear in Greene Superior Court on a preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement after an incident that occurred when two state troopers attempted to serve a warrant.

Trooper Adam Davis and Trooper Jon Hart were at Werner's residence near Owensburg around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 with a warrant that was issued out of Monroe County.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the Greene County case, Werner came riding up on the back of an ATV with a shotgun in his hands.

Werner was told multiple times to drop the weapon and he eventually did but then took off running on foot.

The troopers took up the chase but it didn't last long.

The affidavit states approximately 50 feet west of the man's residence, he jumped a ditch and ended up face down where he was handcuffed then transported to Monroe County Jail.
