The annual bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Linton-Stockton High School auditeria. Admission into the event is free and ample parking is available.
Proceeds from the sorority's traditional fundraiser go to scholarships for Linton-Stockton High School grads as well as other local charities.
Bette Meng, treasurer of Beta Sigma Phi explained, "We use it for scholarships. Every spring we give out a $500 scholarship. If we have additional money we give out more."
The sorority also uses the proceeds to benefit Relay for Life and local recipients of Toys for Tots.
The holiday bazaar will include many items such as crafts, knitted goods, hand-made purses, antiques, quilts, baskets as well as a professional photographer, she said. Several local vendors as well as some from Terre Haute will offer their wares.
"We get at least 30 vendors and sometimes up to 50," Meng said. "The vendors usually fill up the auditeria and spill out into the hallway."
Beta Sigma Phi will also raffle off a Longaberger beverage basket and rot iron stand as well as a money tree. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased at the bazaar or from any Beta Sigma Phi member.
The drawing will take place toward the end of the bazaar and you need not be present to win, Meng said.
Food, including tacos in a bag, homemade pies, as well as sandwiches will also be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the sorority.
Meng encourages everyone to attend the bazaar.
"It's a really relaxing atmosphere. We have Christmas music playing and the vendors are very nice people," she said. "You can browse around, eat lunch and run into people you know. It's an enjoyable afternoon."
