Juanita Knowles

Juanita Knowles, 87, of Linton, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton.

She was born in Clay County on Feb. 9, 1922, the daughter of Aaron Gardner and Sally White Gardner.

She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Linton, and a Pink Lady for 20 years at Greene County General Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marion Knowles in 1988; one son, Kent Ray Knowles; six brothers, Buck, Herb, John, Raymond, Sam, and Roy Gardner; four sisters, Stella Owens. Kate Hunt, Ruby Wells, and Mercy Kayser.

Survivors include: one sister, Mabel Usrey of Linton; four grandchildren, Sara, Aaron, Larry, and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery in Linton with Rev. Myron Young and Rev. Bob Ross officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger is in charge of arrangements.
