He was born on October 6, 1927 to the late Floyd and Gladys Gibbs Evans.
He was a high school graduate from Carlisle. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from ConRail after 40 years. He was a member of the Lakeview Church and the American Legion Post #22 in Linton.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Shirley Larkey Evans; three daughters, Christine (Rodney) Miller, Nancy (Larry) Patterson, Barbara (Mark) Gennicks, Step-son, Larry (Judy) Faris; step-daughters, Jan(Randy) Reid, Karen (Mark) Mutz;18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, at G.H.Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 South State Rd.135, Greenwood, with the funeral service on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Disease.
