"We played excellent tonight," Union (Dugger) coach Nikki McCoy said. "We improved on every aspect of the game. They worked harder tonight than I have ever seen them work, it's a shame that we came up short in the end."
McCoy still holds out hope to see the Lady Bulldogs end their current losing streak that has now reached 22 straight matches dating back to last season.
"The girls don't see it like I do, but the improvement that they have made outweighs the number of losses," McCoy said. "I would still love for them to win because they deserve it for all of their hard work."
Jessica Davidson finished with one dig, two kills and a perfect 16 of 16 from the serving line.
Fellow senior Audrey Morrill closed out the contest with three digs, five kills and was 7 of 7 from the service stripe while Tori Martindale finished the match with two digs and was perfect in all eight of her serves.
Conner Kendall collected two digs and was 6 of 6 from the line with an ace, Courteney Collins closed things out with one kill and went 3 for 3 from the service line, Shelby Wonders finished the match 0 for 1 from the line while Taylor Bedwell had three digs, one kill and was 3 of 3 serving and Kaitlyn Lewis was 3 of 4 with two kills.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action Thursday when they host North Central in a 6 p.m. varsity-only contest.
