Eleanor Ruth Cazzell Dewey

Eleanor Ruth Cazzell Dewey, age 78 of Danville, died Monday morning, September 14, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born in Pleasantville on October 17, 1930, the daughter of Raymond K. & Eunice (Gambill) Meurer.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dewey of Danville, two sons, David Michael Cazzell of Ft. Wayne & Charles Steven Cazzell of Indianapolis, three daughters, Linda Schmitt of Janesville, Wisconsin, Wendy Gibson of Pendleton, & Crystal Smith of Lebanon, two step-sisters, Becky Robinson of Lebanon & Jenny Atkinson of Charleston, SC, two brothers, Richard Meurer of Indianpolis & Norman Meurer of Texas, three sisters, Mary "Skip" Wheeler of Camby, Kay Banta of Martinsville, & Gayle Jones of Boonville, a brother-in-law, Bert Cazzell of Linton & a sister-in-law, Clara Cazzell of Dugger, seventeen grandchildren & eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Charles Cazzell, & a son, William Ray Cazzell.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M on Friday, September 18, 2009. Burial will follow at Samaria Cemetery in Dugger.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
