A 38-year-old Solsberry man was airlifted from the scene of a motorcycle accident in eastern Greene County Tuesday evening.
Donald "Richie" Rollins sustained a head injury and was transported to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis by an AirEvac helicopter.
Rollins was operating a 2005 Suzuki Motorcycle on Legion Road off of State Road 43 when the accident occurred around 7:05 p.m.
Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Inman reported Rollins had been traveling southeast when he struck gravel on the side of the roadway and lost control of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle then left the roadway and Rollins was thrown off.
Inman said Rollins was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Inman was assisted on the scene by personnel from the Eastern Fire Department, Center Township Fire Department and Greene County Ambulance Service.
