Wilma "Ruth" English

Wilma "Ruth" English, 73, of Jasonville passed away on July 29th at Union Hospital in Terre Haute after an extended battle with cancer. She was born in Jasonville on Sept. 19th, 1935 to Katherine Smith Zuder and Henry Zuder. She married Charles R. English on April 25th, 1952. She was a charter member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church where she also served as the financial secretary. She volunteered at the Blessed Hope Baptist School for over 20 years.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Charles, and her children Franklin and Sheilla Mumma, Jim and Sheryl Swaby, Bill and Karla English. Ruth is also survived by her grandchildren: Scott, Kristopher, Stephanie, Dan, Valerie, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Katelyn; sister: Jean Mowery; brother: Allen R. Zuder; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Phyllis Marie and one grandson Richard Mumma.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 31 from 4 until 8 p.m. at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville, IN and 10 AM until 11 AM at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, S.R. 59, Jasonville. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11 AM in the church on Saturday. Pastor Jerry Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery.
