Born July 17, 1947 in Greene County, he was the son of Amos and Ellen (Smith) Abrams.
He was a fork truck operator for General Electric retiring in 2008 after 38 years of service. He worked part time for the Eastern School District.
He was a member of the Sharkey Trinity Pentecostal Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Phyllis (Sciscoe) Abrams, whom he married January 12, 1966; two sons, Travis Lee Abrams of Stinesville and Dennis J. Abrams II of Bloomfield; two daughters, Marsha Dawn Allender of Stinesville and Ellen Christine Memering of Bicknell; two brothers, Donald Abrams and Danny Abrams both of Bloomfield; two sisters, Betty Reed of Bloomfield and Delores Joan Carmichael of Stanford; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Abrams.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Brother Steve Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one-hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
