Helen Marjorie Basye

Helen Marjorie Basye, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away at 8:58 p.m. on Thursday July 9, 2009 at her residence.

Helen was born January 13, 1921 in Bloomfield the daughter of Arnie and Lillie (Hanson) Hash.

Helen was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rebecca's Lodge # 595 in Bloomfield and was the Past Noble Grand, Bloomfield American Legion Auxiliary # 196 and the Home Ec Club, she was also a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church.

Surviving relatives include: two daughters Barbara Abrams of Bloomfield and Blenda Price and her husband Thomas of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Michael Joe Abrams and his wife Nikki of Bloomfield, Thomas Justin Price and Trevor Franklin Price both of Indianapolis; two great grandchildren, Ciera Jo Abrams and Jaden Cole Abrams, both of Bloomfield; and one step-sister, Wilma Yakey of Indianapolis.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband John Franklin Basye in 1977; one son, Russell Basye; one brother, Dallas Hash; and her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 pm until the hour of service on Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home Rev. Arlen Pope and Rev. Dave Wilde officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
