Gregory Squires, Sr.

Gregory Squires, Sr.,66, of Lyons, passed away at 11:07 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.

He was born July 31, 1942, in Boonville, the son of Gayle C. and Thelma (Cuvelier) Squires Cole.

He worked as a mechanic for U-Haul and was also a self-employed mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Pat A. (Hanson) Squires of Lyons, to whom he was married April 26, 1969; a son, Greg L. Squires, Jr. of Rosedale; a sister, Christine (Fenton) Girton of Bloomfield; a grandchild, Ashlynn; and a nephew, Daryl Baker of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Fairview Cemetery with Revs. Gerald Devore and Davy Dyer officiating.

Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
