Vendors needed for upcoming 4- H Fair

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

If you're interested in promoting your business, then be sure to check out the opportunities during the upcoming Greene County 4-H Fair.

Lori Brown, member of the 4-H Council, provided the details.

"We have space available in the commercial building for vendors," she explained.

The commercial building -- which was built years ago by Farm Bureau Insurance -- houses the vendors.

"We rent out spaces in the building. They are 10x10 and the price is $100," Brown said, noting rental space is locked and secure after hours.

Outside space is also available to commercial vendors, and the price is also $100.

"We try to accommodate them (outdoor vendors) and give them a bigger space because they are not under roof," she explained.

Renting space at the fair is a great way to promote your business, Brown said.

"It is a really a good way for a local business to show off their stuff," she added. "We have a lot of people walking through (the building)."

This year the commercial building will be open from 5-10 p.m. on July 11-16.

Several activities are scheduled in the commercial building.

"We've been striving in the last few years to have more activity to draw people through," she explained.

The little miss and mister and baby contests as well as the awards night are traditionally held in the building.

Local businesses such as Farm Bureau Incorporated, Bloomfield State Bank, REMC, Greene County Daily World, among others, have used the fair's booth space for promotional purposes.

The Shawnee Theatre, local churches, Master Gardeners as well as Greene County Soil and Water have also rented space.

"We can get between 30 and 40 booths in the building," she said, adding a good average is 28.
