Harmon H. Tyson

Harmon H. Tyson, 86, of Lyons, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Lyons Health and Living Center.

Harmon was born Sept. 17, 1922 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to Ora and Frances Emily (Gaddis) Tyson.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Peabody Coal Company.

Surviving relatives include: his daughter, Rena Ferris and husband Danny of Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Julie Ferris; one grandson, Brad Ferris, both of Indianapolis; one great-grandson, Damon Williams of Indianapolis; one brother, Bill Tyson of Ohio; and one sister, Hazel Ready of Gary.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie A. (Fields) Tyson on Dec. 6, 2004; two sisters; three brothers; and his parents.

There will be no public visitation.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lyon.
