Vernon Inman Porter

Vernon Inman Porter, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon.

Born Dec. 5, 1920 in Martin County, he was the son of Thomas J. and Freda C. (Inman) Porter.

He worked for NSWC Crane, was a farmer, and was a bookkeeper for Greene County for many years.

Surviving relatives include: one brother, Bill Worman of Bloomfield; two aunts, five nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several uncles.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Interment will be in Scotland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one-hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
