Marcella Jones

Marcella Jones, 98, Linton, passed away at 7:17 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor in Mooresville.

She was born Oct. 2, 1910, in Owen County, to Lloyd and Etta (Hubbell) Padgett.

She was homemaker, and formerly worked as a nurses aid. She was a member of Church of Christ in Linton, and Greene County Historical Society.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Sykes, Harmony, FL; two grandchildren, Kim (Dan) Meyl, Pompano Beach, FL, Keith (Linda) Sykes, Orlando, FL; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Kylee, Nicholas, Emily and Logan; one sister, Carole Hochstetler, Mooresville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenneth Wilson; two brothers, Ivan and Willard Padgett; two sisters, Wilma Graber and Louise Frump.

Funeral service Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Worthington, 1 p.m. Monday, May 11 with Gerald Frump officiating.

Friends may call at Welch & Cornett after 11 a.m. Monday until time of service.

Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
