L-S kindergarten enrollment
It is time to pre-enroll students for the 2009/2010 Linton kindergarten classes. During the month of April, school staff will need to know the names of those students who will be taking the kindergarten screening in May. Children who will be five 5- years old on or before Aug. 1 may take the screening which will be given in the kindergarten rooms in the elementary school on Tuesday, May 19. As pre-enrollment information is received, each child will be given an appointment time to come in for screening. Anyone who needs a pre-enrollment form should contact the elementary school office. Fish fry April 18
The Marco United Methodist Church located off of State Highway 67, will be hosting their semi-annual spring fish fry on Saturday, April 18 starting at 4 p.m. until we run out of food. The fish fry is a buffet all-you-can-eat meal consisting of fried pollock fish, homemade potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw and homemade dessert. Cost is $7 for adults and children (under 12) $4. A new stair lift has been installed for easy access to the basement. After the meal, there will be gospel singing for your enjoyment in the church upstairs.

Tobacco Cessation Class
to begin April 16
A tobacco cessation class will be on Thursday evenings from April 16 -- June 4 from 6 - 8 p.m. in the conference room at Greene County General Hospital. Free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (patches or gum) will be made available to class participants for the duration of the class, courtesy of the Greene County Public Health Department. You must register in advance to participate. Class facilitator Chris Sparks, R.N., is a certified tobacco cessation counselor through Community Intervention, Inc. and Clarian Tobacco Control Center (Clarian Health Partners). The classes are a collaborative effort of the Greene County Tobacco Prevention Coalition, Greene County Home Health Care, Greene County General Hospital, and Greene County Health Department. The Central Greene County Ministerial Association's Lenten Breakfast series has been well-received again this year. Eastern Greene kindergarten round-up
Eastern Greene kindergarten round-up is from 12:15 - 4:15 p.m. on April 15 and from 12:15 - 3:15 p.m. on April 16. Your child must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 to attend kindergarten this fall. Spring clean-up for the Peavey Cemetery begins April 1. Wreaths and other such winter decorations need to be removed prior to this date. Memorial decorations that interfere with mowing should be removed prior to June 15.
Miniature golf fundraiser
Friends for Kids of Daviess County will be host its annual Miniature Golf Tournament on April 25 at Putter's Bay course in Washington. There will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. with several prizes.
