Hyla M. Johnson

Hyla M. Johnson, 92, of Linton, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at the Glenburn Home in Linton.

She was born in Greene County on NoV. 29, 1916, the daughter of Edgar Grant and Anna Theresa (Ebler) Tincher.

Hyla had worked as a beautician and was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton.

She is survived by her son, Greg Johnson and his wife, Carolyn, of Loogootee; her granddaughter, Erin F. Bateman and her husband, Joe, of Loogootee;, and her great-granddaughter, Delani.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hubert E. Johnson on Oct. 15, 1982, and an infant child.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Father Michael Madden officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Monday from 5-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1-1:45 p.m.
