Scales was released from the Greene County Jail on Tuesday after posting $1,000 bond.
A preliminary charge of domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor, was filed against Scales on Wednesday in Greene Superior Court and he is scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing Jan. 12.
When three LPD officers arrived on the scene Monday around 11:23 a.m., a female victim stated she and Scales had been in an argument. Scales allegedly threw her phone then grabbed her by the hat of her hoodie and pulled her to the ground.
According the affidavit, Scales allegedly then placed his forearm to her throat and began to cut off her air supply. After she was able to get up and the phone rang, she was able to get out of the residence and went to a neighbor's house.
Scales was located and interviewed then placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen was the arresting officer. Det. Sgt. Duane Collenbaugh and Reserve Officer Kyle Butler also responded to the scene.
