Estelle Thompson

Estelle Thompson, 83,of Linton, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 16, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan.

She was born in Sullivan County, December 15, 1925, the daughter of Nelson Burris and Tressie O'Haver Burris.

She retired from Crane.

Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn Enochs and husband Gary of Dugger; four grandchildren, Angie Boyd (Doug), Tracy Reeves (Chip), Darren Near, and Missy Scott; nine great grandchildren, Tesla and Dreyson Boyd, Adley, Jostin and Jadin Reeves, Bailey and Daylen Near, Whitni and Ashli Scott.

She was preceded in death by her first husband James Near in 1973, and her second husband Edwin Thompson in 2002, also one son Ronny Near

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Pastor Shawn Farris officiating. Friends may call at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
