Eminence standout Aulani Sinclair poured in 30 points, but the Union (Dugger) trio of MaKaylee Pirtle, Megan Gambill and Cheyenne Goodman combined for 47 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 52-47 victory in overtime in a Tri-River Conference girls basketball game in Morgan County Thursday night.

"I thought we played pretty well against Aulani," said Union (Dugger) coach Benji Boyd, whose Lady Bulldogs improved to 1-0 in the TRC, 2-1 overall. "We put in some junk defensives against her.

"She still ended up with 30 points. She is so good that she can pick up a lot of points on junk around the basket. I actually think that Megan outplayed her. Ashli also played her well."

Pirtle made 11 of 15 free throws as she led Union (Dugger) with 19 points. She made two freebies with two seconds to play in regulation to tie the score at 44-all, forcing overtime.

Gambill hit two 3-pointers and collected 16 points.

Goodman, a freshman, hit four shots from beyond the arc to account for all of scoring -- 12 points.

"We led 25-24 at the half," said Boyd. "We pushed the lead to six (36-30) after three quarters.

"We actually led by eight with about four minutes to play. But we let thing slip away and starting taking some poor shots and made some bad decisions. We even got down by two points. MaKaylee hit two big free throws to get us to overtime, where we pretty much dominated."

Eminence slipped to 0-3, 0-2 in the TRC.

The Lady Bulldogs will be off until Monday, Dec. 1 when they host South Knox in another varsity-only game.
