Born Feb. 7, 1950 in Sullivan County, he was the son of Max E. Davis and Francella Marie (Hunt) Davis.
A U. S. Army veteran, he was a retired mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service with 34 years of service. He received a 'Million Mile Award' for miles traveled without any accidents. He attended Lawton Street Christian Church in Jasonville.
Survivors include: his wife, Bonnie D. (Newby) Davis of Jasonville, whom he married Aug. 26, 1972; daughters and son-in-law, Heather Davis of Franklin, Jessica and Jason Miller of Franklin; a son, Jacob Davis of Jasonville; sisters, Nancy Winfrey of Jasonville, Linda Stevens of Jasonville, Misty Bredehoft of Jasonville, a brother, Fred Davis of Linton; and grandchildren, Michael Miller and Emily Miller
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Alice Davis
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Friday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery in Midland. Graveside rites will be conducted.
