Geneva A. Bass

Geneva A. Grissom Bass, 75, of Sarasota, FL and formerly of Martin County, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at Doctor's Hospital in Sarasota.

Born Feb. 8, 1933 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Elmer and Gertie (Sellers) Grissom.

She retired from NWSC Crane in 1992 and was a member of First Baptist Church in Williams.

Survivors include: her husband, Robert Bass of Sarasota; three sons, Dave Roush (Carole) of Linton, John Roush (Kassle) of Washington and Dan Roush (Connie) of Shoals; a daughter, Jennifer Martin (Richard) of Port Charlotte, FL; two step-sons Eric Bass (Theresa) of Bloomington and Michael Bass (Lori) or Martinsville; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchidren; two sisters, Leona Gala of Sarsota and Genie Warner of Gas City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Wahneeta Shelton.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Williams in Lawrence County with Bro. Tim East officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Williams.

Friends may call at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
