Born Oct. 1, 1919 in Greene County, he was the son of Charles Bernice and Ona Mae (Hunter) Crites. He married Wilda Delores (Hamilton) Crites on Oct. 10, 1942.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a repair lineman for the Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC of Bloomfield and at IUPUI in Indianapolis.
Survivors include: his wife, Wilda Delores Crites of Paragon; two sons, Steven F. Crites of Eminence and C. Tim Crites of Sheridan; two sisters, Mable Johnson of Cicero and Mary Sheets of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Oneta Noel.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mannan Cemetery in Cloverdale.
