Youth deer hunt Saturday at Goose Pond

Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area will be taking part in this National Hunting and Fishing Day by hosting a youth deer hunt. Youth hunters and accompanying adults need only to sign in at one of the self-service booths on the property. The property office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday with snacks, drinks and handouts available for the youth hunters. Successful hunters will have their pictures taken and have plenty of opportunity to tell the story of their hunt.

Free Tobacco Cessation Class Starting

A new tobacco cessation class is scheduled to begin September 30. Classes are scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 6 -- 8 PM for 8 -- 10 weeks. Sessions will be held at the Gr. Co.
