A Jonah Fish Fry to benefit several area organizations will be conducted Sept. 19 at the Knights of Columbus building in Linton. The fish fry will be from 4-7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children aged three to 12. Free Tobacco Cessation Class Starting
A new tobacco cessation class is scheduled to begin September 30. Classes are scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 6 -- 8 PM for 8 -- 10 weeks. Sessions will be held at the Gr. Co. General Hospital Meeting Room, near the cafeteria on the lower level. Free nicotine replacement therapy for participants will, once again, be provided by Gr. Co. Health Department. Three short computer classes and a Beginning Spanish class are on the schedule for September at the Greene County Community Learning Center housed at White River Valley High School in Switz City. Computing Fundamentals will show the beginning computer user the basics steps to understanding and using their computer including Microsoft Windows XP, using e-mail and the Internet. Cost is $129.50 A one-day workshop on Microsoft Word's mail merge feature will be held Thursday, September 18 from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $30. A Beginning Conversational Spanish class will start on September 16 and meet for ten Tuesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. This class focuses on everyday phrases and vocabulary that can help the Spanish traveler or those who need to converse in Spanish.
