Shirley L. Short

Shirley L. Short, 95, of Lampasas, Texas and formerly of Worthington, passed away, Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008.

She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Worthington to Barton C. and Jessie e. (Kirkpatrick) Morris.

She was a retired Postal Clerk, and from Worthington State Bank. She was a member of Linton First Christian Church, D.A.R., Greene County Historical Society and Worthington Garden Club.

She is survived by one sister, Joan Smith, Lampasas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Wallace Noble Short, Feb. 1, 1999; 3 brothers, William H., Floyd B., and Robert C. Morris; 3 sisters, Jean McClara, Betty Kendriek and Mary Stephens.

Graveside services 1 p.m. Thursday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Linton First Christian Church, Greene County Historical Society and Worthington Garden Club.
