Midland--An early Thursday morning fire has destroyed the home of a rural Jasonville family.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Wright Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the Curtis and LuWanna Bland home to find it fully engulfed, explained Kallie Rehmel, Wright Volunteer firefighter and secretary.
"They (Bland family) called 9-1-1...They smelled smoke and got out," Rehmel said, noting no injuries were reported.

The two-story home, located on County Road 500, is a total loss, Rehmel said.
"We had the fire knocked out in half an hour," she explained. "We had to stay and get hot spots."
Firefighters left the scene at 7:15 a.m. Thursday and Rehmel and Wright Volunteer Fire Chief Jack Wilson were preparing to return to the scene around 10:15 a.m. to extinguish another hot spot.
"It's still burning," Wilson said, while at the station house.
Rehmel noted that the Bland residence was 2150 square feet with a newly built attached garage that was 1152 square feet.
"The fire wore us out," she noted.
In the end, three firefighters stayed on-scene extinguishing the hot spots because the other volunteers returned to work, Wilson added.
While on-scene, the firefighters also fought mud.
"The mud caused problems . They (Bland family) had been landscaping. We had to pull the hoses through the mud," Rehmel said.
At the time, Wilson did not know the cause of the fire but only that the fire marshal would make a determination on Friday.
Also responding to the fire were the Linton Fire Department, Jasonville Volunteer Fire Department and the Lewis Volunteer Fire Department. Greene County Ambulance was on stand-by.

May God bless you..
We are so sorry for your loss. Remembering you in our prayers.
Great job to all.
