Debbie Hasemen, who served as the center's director for more than three years, has turned in a letter of resignation effective Friday, Aug. 29.
Hal Harp, who serves as the president of the Greene County Solid Waste District (GCSWD), confirmed the news in a telephone interview with the Greene County Daily World on Friday morning.
"I will confirm I do have a letter of resignation effective today (Friday)," he said, noting Tuesday's session of the GCSWD will offer more information on the matter.
After confirming the news, Harp declined to offer any further comments on the matter until the Sept. 2 meeting.
Haseman also declined to talk about her resignation.
Prior to becoming the supervisor, Haseman also worked as the recycling center's education coordinator. She was hired as the center's supervisor shortly after its former director, Jeff Myers , resigned in February 2005.
Both Myers' director position and Haseman's education coordinator positions were phased out at the time.
Haseman had about 15 years of employment at the center.
The Greene County Solid Waste Management Board will meet in executive session at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 2 following the county commissioner's meeting at the courthouse. The regular meeting to follow.
Maybe now we can have recycling pick-up. If not, I will settle for in town drop-off locations.
The county has a money pit in the court house coming out of tax payers pockets but someone who did a good job at what she done is pushed out because she may have got more hours then other people, Debbie will be missed, but I bet she won't miss all the whiners and cry'rs over there. Some people need to be recycled too.
The county should have time clocks for every office . . . and then just see how hard it really is for some.
Clocking in and out is tough for some people...
What a same. Debbie was a great asset to the recycling center.
